Script for Animated Video

Project Title: "Upfront Contracts for Increased Productivity"
Tools: Google Docs
Time: 4 hours
Client: personal portfolio piece for IDOL courses Academy
Collaborators: independent project
Challenge
The challenge for this project was to explain upfront contracts in a way that people can relate. I also wanted to explain the concept quickly via a 2-3 minute animated video made with Vyond.
Solution
The script focuses around a character who experiences a range of emotions as a result of meetings that are conducted in different ways. Since most people can relate to the joys and pains of meetings, learners will be able to relate to the experiences of the character and consequently better understand upfront contracts.
The script underwent three iterations, with feedback from IDOL courses Academy community members and then Academy coach feedback. Feedback sought and received helped me make the script more natural, concise, and shorter.
Results
The script is the appropriate length for a video 2-3 minutes in length. The dialogue, scenes, and interactions are described with enough detail and context to support a variety of animation features in development. From completing this project, I learned the importance of concise wording and modifying script for dialogue that is more conversational rather than formal.
