Challenge

This is the storyboard for the first two lessons of the course I developed with Articulate Rise. This course provided information to members of the accounting department, who would be on the frontlines of implementing processes necessary to meet upcoming compliance standards.

Solution

I developed the storyboad with Microsoft PowerPoint. Each slide represents one block of content in Rise. I include notes on the navigation, formatting, and graphic design of the block.

Feedback I received after sharing the storyboard with stakeholders was to make the course more interactive and at the same time reduce the number of accordion buttons. I made several more iterations before arriving at the finished product, which was then utilized to build the course in Rise.

Results

The storyboard is detailed enough so that a course developer can create the course in Rise. From completing this project, I learned the importance of being able to clearly communicate one's vision for a course. Organizing content, visuals, and navigation in consistent ways on the slide deck helps me show both stakeholders and course developers how I intend the course to come together.
